An ad library API returns the advertisements a platform's public transparency archive holds as structured data, so software and agents can query competitor creative instead of a person searching an archive by hand.
The official surfaces are narrower than the archives they front. Meta's Ad Library API is scoped mainly to political and issue ads, with commercial creative exposed only under the EU's DSA disclosures; Google's Ads Transparency Center ships no public API at all; TikTok's Commercial Content API is EU-scoped; LinkedIn's archive stops at a search box. For ordinary competitive research, the platforms publish the data to a website and withhold it from the wire.
Everything programmatic beyond that is third-party, and the options differ in what they take on. Scraper platforms hand you flexibility and the maintenance burden with it: you own the breakage, the normalization across four schemas, and the storage, and your history starts the day you begin. Transparency wrappers resell single-platform lookups with no memory. Adveron's position is the capture layer: the Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and TikTok libraries tracked daily for indexed brands, stored permanently with each ad's native library ID and deep link, served over one API and an MCP server so an agent can query mid-task. One pull returned 5,184 active Meta ads for a single brand.
The evaluation questions are the same for any option: which platforms and regions are actually covered, how history is kept once an ad stops running, and whether every stored ad can be opened in its source archive. An answer that fails the third question is asking to be trusted rather than audited.
Mostly no. Meta's API covers political and issue ads plus EU-targeted ads under the Digital Services Act; ordinary commercial creative in most regions is visible in the web archive but absent from the official API. That gap is why third-party coverage exists.
No public one. Programmatic access to Google's archive means either per-request wrappers with no stored history, or a capture layer that scans it continuously and keeps what it finds.
As part of one surface: 56 endpoints across 13 data sources, with per-platform ad library coverage and cross-library search, REST and MCP both. Indexed brands are scanned daily and stored permanently, and 5,000 free credits cover the first integration end to end.
