The short answer

When narrative matters, you want the journalists, creators, and communities that actually move your category, so outreach starts warm instead of cold. Adveron derives that list from behavior: whose posts the category's audience actually engages and repeats, which newsletters and podcasts they attend to, and which communities set the tone the rest of the conversation follows.

Influence from behavior

Whose posts the category's audience actually engages and repeats, not who claims reach.

Beyond the byline

The newsletters, podcasts, and communities that set the tone the rest of the conversation follows.

Outreach that starts warm

The list arrives with the evidence of attention, so the pitch opens with relevance.

How it works

Media lists are built from mastheads and follower counts, which is why so much outreach lands cold: title and reach measure position, not influence. The people who actually move a category's narrative are visible in the conversation itself, they are the ones whose framing gets repeated, whose posts the audience engages, whose newsletters get quoted back into the threads. That list is shorter than the media list and only partially overlaps it.

Deriving it from the data also keeps it current, because narrative influence turns over faster than contact databases do. Pull the voices your category's audience demonstrably attends to, across creators, podcasts, newsletters, and communities, and the outreach plan starts with the thirty people who matter and evidence of why each one does.

Questions teams ask

How is this different from a media database?

Databases index who holds a title; this surfaces who the audience actually hears, measured by engagement and repetition rather than masthead. The lists overlap less than you would expect, and the difference is where cold outreach goes to die.

Does this cover communities as well as people?

Yes. Some categories are moved less by named individuals than by a handful of communities where the framing gets set, and the same audience data surfaces those alongside the creators, podcasts, and newsletters.
